Located in Kitkatla, the Lach Klan School is seeking to fill a part-time janitorial position.  Reporting to the school Principal, the part-time janitor will be responsible for keeping the school clean and orderly providing a healthy and safe work environment for employees and students.  This position will generally work Monday-Friday from 1:00-4:00 p.m. but may be called upon to work outside of these hours depending on needs and planned activities. 

General duties include:

• Perform general facility maintenance services including vacuuming, sweeping (indoor and outdoor spaces), mopping, carpet shampooing, dusting, washing of windows, disinfecting of surfaces, restocking of sanitary supplies, garbage removal (including biohazards) and snow and ice removal.
• Wash and dry dishes, linen, and towels.
• Follow maintenance plans and perform maintenance on equipment if assigned.
• General understanding of health & safety procedures for the work environment.
• Provide input to and follow maintenance plans and schedules.
• Provide input for purchases of supplies and inventory management.
• Inform supervisor of required plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair and perform light-duty repairs.
• Assist in rearranging office equipment and furnishings as needed.

• You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deal with people in a professional manner.
• Knowledge of critical incident management response systems, emergency preparedness and service community preparedness plans.
• Working knowledge of good practices in facility maintenance and cleaning.
• Independent work ethic.
• Ability to lift and/or move moderately heavy items with ease, such as garbage, furniture, vacuum cleaners, and buckets.
• Your ability to successfully undergo a criminal records review or police record check is required.
