Gitxaała Enterprises Corporation is the Proud Business Entity of the Gitxaała Nation.

Gitxaała Enterprises Corporation (GECO) contributes to the overall growth and sustainability of the Gitxaała Nation community by working with local businesses and industry partners. We work together to be environmentally focused, while helping business continually move forward.

Gitxaała Territory is in the northwest of beautiful British Columbia, stretching from the Nass River to Aristazabel Island. We take great pride in managing and protecting our land and natural resources according to our ayaawx, traditional laws. Our Territory provides a unique opportunity with its geographic location. With abundance of natural resources, the import and export opportunities and our knowledge of the land and water we are situated for a strong economic advantage.

Gitxaała Enterprises will create multi-generational wealth and economic self-sufficiency through business development in a manner that aligns with the Gitxaała retention of its territory, natural resources, land, and air–in a self-governing, self-sustaining way inclusive of all its citizens.

Subsidiaries

GITXAAŁA ENVIROMENTAL SERVICES was established in 2021 to be a leading environmental and marine sciences consulting service provider. We have developed a committed, highly trained, and responsive local team based in Prince Rupert to service client demands in all natural resource sectors and levels of government.

GITXAAŁA FORESTRY is a forest licensee operating three forest licenses in the Great Bear Rainforest Timber Supply Area. With over 150,000 cubic metres of allowable annual cut, we are well situated to serve the needs to the global wood products industry.

TYEE BUILDING SUPPLIES was originally established in 1981 and today owns and operates the Rona Building Centre in Prince Rupert. Tyee is committed to supporting retail and contractor building supply requirements for Prince Rupert and the North Coast.

SALTWATER BAKERY AND PROVISIONS is located in the heart of the Cow Bay tourism area of Prince Rupert. We offer a wide array of natural hearth baked breads, signature pies, local cheeses, pastries.

GITXAAŁA HORIZONS NORTH provides workplace accommodation and janitorial services for industrial projects operating near Kitimat. It operates the Crossroads Lodge, a 700-room executive-style rooms facility, and provides temporary office and cleaning services.

GITXAAŁA WEST COAST LAUNCH provides safe, reliable, and high-quality water taxi marine transportation services within the Prince Rupert and Kitimat regions to First Nation communities, local terminals, mining, energy sites, and inbound and outbound freighters.

GITXAAŁA SEASPAN offers modern, high efficiency 65T bollard tugs stationed at Prince Rupert. These tugs will be crewed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and will be available for ship docking and ship escort in the region.

GITXAAŁA BIRD CONSTRUCTION has been an ongoing partnership between Gitxaala and Bird Construction. Bird is a premier national construction firm with over 100 years of operations. Together, we pursue industrial project construction activities on the North Coast.

GITXAAŁA BEAR CREEK CONSTRUCTION is a local civil construction firm providing civil construction and forest harvesting expertise to local projects. Our fleet of modern heavy equipment services large and small industrial proponents ensuring their earthmoving needs are met.

GITXAAŁA INTEGRAL ENERGY is an industrial electrical and instrumentation service provider serving large project requirements on the North Coast.

ALTRAD/ GITXAAŁA JOINT VENTURE is an industrial provider of painting and coatings work for large projects. Together we can meet industrial project needs to ensure all surfaces are properly protected for maximum efficiency.

GITXAAŁA CITYWEST COMMUNICATIONS provides high-speed internet service to Gitxaala Nation.
