The successful candidate will be responsible to develop and implement the program strategy and design of the Day Labour program. Collaborating with the Director of Education, the coordinator is responsible for recruiting and onboarding participants, assessing participants’ needs, liaising with partners, and identifying and leading appropriate community-led or partnership-led projects. This position will be required to work in Lach Klan and Prince Rupert.
Duties and Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Provide open, safe, and professional environment for project participants and community partners
- Develop and maintain strong relationships within and external to the Nation, including identifying work opportunities and developing community-based projects, incorporating community needs and considering economic benefits to the Nation and the individual
- Establish a culture of inclusive, safe, and equitable working environment for stakeholders including the participant, while providing direction on priorities and responsibilities for staff and volunteers
- Facilitate community engagement, research, and events
- Recruit community participants and collaborators for the program
- Administer project budgets per the scope of the program
- Update employee and client files, ensuring all files are kept confidential per privacy legislation
- Complete all necessary client and participant engagement paperwork
- Interpret policies and provide related assistance and advice to clients and staff
- Provide coaching, advice, and assistance as required
- Recommend policy and process changes that will improve satisfaction, and engagement
- Implement safe work practices and training for participants and staff as required
- Oversee recruitment, training, and project development activities within the scope of the project
- Perform other tasks within the scope of the position.
